Third Day: Pahrump to Apache Junction

Travelled a bit further today than the first two days. 477 miles. I wanted to keep the miles per day to between 300-400. After all my travels this trip, the average may be within those parameters. We’ll see.

Left Pahrump later than I hoped. The lady working the front desk was a part timer and did not get the instructions on how to work the credit card reader. To speed things up I drove into town (had to pick up some groceries anyway), took out some cash then paid what I owed for the night’s stay.

Drove through Las Vegas, where the temps were the highest so far, 99 degrees F. Not really hot for Las Vegas, but it warranted turning on the AC for the first time this trip. Saw more interesting, to me at least, rock formations. This one looks like an art project I did in high school. Mine was not as good though.

Lake Mead is a bit south of Las Vegas. It’s a bit low…

Most rest stops you get in, get it done, get gone. This one though had a view so I partook.

I spent two days in Apache Junction because I wanted to visit Sedona AZ again. More on that in my next post.
